Welcome to the King Bladud's Pigs in Bath website! Visit often - this website changes all the time.
King Bladud’s Pigs in Bath is a summer 2008 public art event to celebrate Bath, its origins and its artists and provide residents and visitors with some artistic enjoyment. One hundred life-size pig sculptures turned into works of art will be on display throughout the summer all around Bath and beyond - to be auctioned off in October for the benefit of the
Two Tunnels Project.
Most of the finished sculptures are already out in the streets and parks and on or inside buildings. Have a look at the pigs page to see the pigs, their names, artists and sponsors, and individual maps; and the map page to see an overall map.
Printed maps showing all 100 pigs are now available at £1 each from
- Bath Tourist Office in Kingston Parade
- Bath Abbey Gift Shop
- Bath Aqua Glass in Orange Grove
- Bath City Sightseeing Office at Bath Spa Station
- Jane Austen Centre, Gay Street
- Studio Flowers in Charles Street, Green Park
- Newsagent, St James Place
- Oldfield Park Books, Moorland Road
- Del Sole Deli, Moorland Rd
- Theatre of Glass, 105 Walcot St
Visit our workshop in Crescent Lane, behind the Royal Crescent. It's not always open but when it is, you may see a finished sculpture waiting to be installed or one receiving tender loving care after some damage. You can also buy a pig map there, or a brightly coloured mini replica of a King Bladud's pig. A large poster with all 100 pigs on will be available soon.
There will be a Farewell Pigs Event on the weekend of 18th/19th October at Queen Square where all 100 pigs will be on display.
The grand live auction is on 31st October. But you can already bid for pigs on this website - see
Auction.
